Fresh, tasty asparagus – it’s soon summer!
Asparagus can be both green and white. The difference between the two is how they are cultivated. The green asparagus is cultivated above ground in sun and wind, whereas the white asparagus is cultivated below ground hidden in the dark. The white asparagus is thus a green one, that has not seen the sunlight.
The green asparagus can be eaten raw or cooked as it is. The white asparagus needs to be peeled first, since its skin is rather thick. At RADIO we think both types are delicious and every year we are looking forward to serving fresh asparagus to our guests. The Danish asparagus can be harvested from May-July.
